BRHS Junior Class attends Spring College Fair at FSU University Center

The Junior class spent Thursday morning at the new University Center at FSU for the annual Spring College Fair.  This was a great opportunity for the students to ask questions and get information from several Michigan colleges including:  Alma College, Central Michigan University, Concordia University, Cornerstone, Davenport, Eastern, Ferris, Grand Valley, ITT Tech., Michigan State, Northwestern, Olivet, University of Michigan, Western Michigan University and many more....

Each student received a bag to hold a variety of information and had the opportunity to ask questions about Student financial aid, types of academic services offered, how to apply, how to find more information on programs offered, types of campus activities and groups, costs of tuition room and board, among many other questions.  They were able to speak with representatives from all represented colleges.

The students also had the opportunity to participate in a fun activity called "Get Real" @ the University Center.  This was an activity where they picked an occupation and received a paycheck. They would spend the paycheck at the booths labeled: house payment, utilities, groceries, insurance, transportation and all of the expenses that they would experience in real life. They were left with a final balance to show them the harsh realities of life.  Some had money left but many did not!

BRHS SNOWCOMING week was a great success!

Students showed their spirit all week dressing up for “spirit days”. They dressed up for Tourist Day/ Twin day, Movie/Hollywood day, Elderly day and White out day! The Pep Assembly on Friday was great fun with Mr. Bonning showing off his wrestling experience by taking on two of our best wrestlers who qualified for regionals. The YMCA dance by the varsity basketball and hockey teams got the students fired up, leading to a great performance by our BRHS Dance team! Fun and games ended the assembly.
The Snowcoming Representatives were:  Freshmen– Morgan Pippin and James Hundersmarck, Sophomores– Macy Mason and Christian Hector, Juniors—Beth Krager and Jeremiah McReynolds, Seniors:  Renae Lyons and Adam Langworthy.  The Sophomore representatives were crowned King and Queen as the sophomore class had the most spirit points earned for the week! The Rotunda was rocking Saturday night as just under 300 students attended the Snowcoming Dance, making it one of the most attended dances in recent years!
