Open Enrollment at Big Rapids Public Schools

Registration for the 2016-2017 school year is open for children in all grade levels.  



Kindergarten Registration for the 2016 - 2017 School Year 


If your child is going to be five years old by December 1st, 2016 it is time to register for kindergarten. Please register early so we can make sure to get your child scheduled for screening by our current kindergarten teachers. Enrollment packets can be picked up at the Board of Education Office at 21034 15 Mile Road, Big Rapids MI. You will need to bring your child’s birth certificate and their immunization records.


School Registration for grades 1st through 12th

We are also enrolling students in grades 1st through 12th for the 2016-2017 school year as well. Enrollment paperwork can be filled out at our Board of Education Office at 21034 15 Mile Road, Big Rapids MI.  Please make sure to bring your child’s birth certificate and immunization records for their school files.

BRMS 8th Grade Band has been selected to perform at the Michigan Music Conference!!

Big Rapids Middle School is proud to announce that the BRMS 8th Grade Band has been selected to perform at the Michigan Music Conference in January of 2017!! This is the highest honor a band can achieve through our music educator's group (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association). This year, BRMS is one of only 2 middle school bands chosen to perform from the entire state of Michigan! Congrats!!! What an accomplishment!!

BRMS - Amazing Race!

Over 160 Big Rapids Middle School students participated the Amazing Race on Friday, May 13th at the High School. Students raced around the school, competing in different events. These events consisted of dancing, obstacle courses through bounce houses, bean bag throwing, rolling in a giant ball, sling shots, and many more!

5th Graders Dissect Pig Lungs!

The Big Rapids Middle School 5th Grade Class spent Friday afternoon dissecting pig lungs. High School science teacher, Sue McCullen, brought over some of her students to assist the 5th Graders with the process!

BRMS Technology Students have been making Weekly Video Announcements

The 6th Grade Technology students at Big Rapids Middle School have spent the trimester learning how to make and edit videos. They have been creating weekly video announcements that have been shown to the entire school each Friday Morning! They have even learned how to work with a Green Screen! They have even made a few special videos for Mother's Day and Teacher Appreciation Week!

BRHS National Honor Society's Red Cross Blood Drive

The National Honor Society sponsored another Red Cross blood drive on Friday, April 22nd and collected a total of 28 donations from students and staff.

Big Rapids High Schools National Honor Society hosts a total of three blood drives per year.

BRHS Junior/Senior Prom 2016

Big Rapids High School students and their guests celebrated together at the Holiday Inn for Prom 2016 - "Vintage Carnival". Over 200 students got together for food, music, and games which included corn hole and ring toss. A full candy bar of 12 different candies capped off the steak, chicken, or vegetarian dinner. Many students enjoyed taking a lot of pictures in the photo booth or the Tarzan and Jane background made by McKenna Saunders. Kenny Davis and Jonatha McAdams were voted and named the Prom 2016 King and Queen while Grant Potter and Alex McCullough were voted Prince and Princess. The night was capped off by the seniors dancing and singing to Don’t Stop Believing by Journey.
