The Homecoming theme this year is “Fairytales”.
Fun activities are planned for the week of September 26th through October 1st, “Spirit Week”. During spirit week the students and staff have fun and show their school spirit by dressing up according to the theme for the day. Monday is Comfy day, Tuesday is Twin Day, Wednesday is tourist day, Thursday is Fairy tale character day and Friday is Spirit day (wear your blue and red)! The Junior/Senior powderpuff football game is Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. here at the high school. It’s always fun to watch the Junior vs. Senior girls battle it out! The bonfire will be held in the back parking lot near the soccer fields’ right after the powderpuff game.
Friday festivities begin at the High School with fun and activities planned beginning at 10:30 a.m.with class spirit games, fun activities, King and Queen voting and then the Homecoming Assembly at 2:00 p.m. The parade will begin at the Middle School at 5:30 p.m. heading south on Michigan Ave. and ending at FSU’s Top Taggart Field for the big game! There will be a tailgating hot dog cookout in the parking lot before the game for all BRPS staff and band students. Big Rapids Cardinals vs. Central Montcalm Hornets will kick-off at 7 p.m. at FSU’s Top Taggart Field. The Homecoming King and Queen will be announced during the half time show.
The Homecoming formal dance will be Saturday, October 1st from 8:00-11:00 p.m. in the BRHS Rotunda.
