The Big Rapids Middle School Student Council has been very busy over the last few weeks of school!

The Big Rapids Middle School Student Council has been very busy over the last few weeks of school!

Last week, the  Student Council hosted a Water Bottle Flipping Competition last week to raise money for an in-school water filling station, promoting healthier lifestyles through adequate hydration throughout a long school day! We had a great time and celebrate those with some pretty remarkable skill!! Thank you to all of the students who participated in the event!

In addition, the BRMS Student Council went through some goal setting and leadership training last week during the first ever Student Council Retreat. A thank you to some of our BRHS dual enrollment students for helping coordinate some teamwork and leadership training, as well as to supervisors Mrs. Jensen and Mrs. Kelley.

Also, Student Council President, Lauren Posey, represented our building in donating over 300 pairs of socks to Our Brother's Keeper, a local community service organization that helps families in need throughout Mecosta-Osceola Counties. Great job BRMS students, staff, and families for helping support our community!

Finally, the Student Council participated in a Food Drive competition last week. The 5th Grade won the can drive competition, collecting the greatest number of donated items for Manna Pantry of Big Rapids. Thank you to all those who donated items to be distributed to some of our families in need throughout Mecosta/Osceola County! All donations will go towards Manna Pantry.
