Learning about Nutrition

Riverview students learn healthy eating habits.

Riverview welcomes Life SPAN, a new program supported by the Michigan Nutrition Network.

Two facilitators are working with our classroom teachers to enhance our curriculum for our students promoting a more healthy lifestyle.

"Cooking with kids" is the curriculum used for students kindergarten through the third grade.  Children learn about nutrition and also have an opportunity to taste test various fruits and vegetables.

"Let’s Cook" is the curriculum for students in the fourth grade.  Students enjoy cooking while learning the broad nutrition concepts of fruits and vegetables.

Life Spans goal is to promote healthy eating habits by promoting a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, and physical activity through experiential learning.
