BRHS Homecoming!

Big Rapids High School celebrated Homecoming week with the theme of "Seasons".  "Spirit Week" began with Monday as P.J./lazy day, Tuesday was twin day, Wednesday was superhero day, Thursday was sports day and Friday was spirit day!

The "Spirit" week ended on Friday with an all day school Spirit Day.  The Cardinal Spirit day began in the Auditorium with the Senior Court Speeches to the entire student body.  Next, the voting for King and Queen took place while the Senior Court members were fresh in their minds. After voting, the "Match Game" began which sent students running all over the school looking for their matching number! The excitement was overwhelming as the students then assembled in the gym to sing the fight song and play spirit games for one of the BEST SPIRIT ASSEMBLIES EVER!

Following the assembly, there was a police presentation in the rotunda.  This presentation included several stations set up in the rotunda and outside for the students to learn about distracted driving and drinking and driving.  Students had the chance to drive a golf cart while wearing goggles that simulate being drunk to see what it is like to drive impaired.

During the lunches students were able to take their time eating, play cards, ping pong, etc.  They also had the opportunity to walk the track or play in the gym.  There was a car set up outside for "Smashing the Coyotes" and a dunk tank to throw at for teacher dunking!

After lunch, the students then walked out to the football field to view the Powder Puff football game! Next they assembled in the gym for the annual Homecoming Assembly that ended with a football game pep talk by Coach Selzer!  The first ever all day Spirit Day was great fun for the students and staff!

The Homecoming parade began at 5:30 p.m. behind the middle school and leading up to the football game at FSU's Top Taggart Field at 7:00 p.m. where the Cardinals took on the Reed City Coyotes!

The Dance was Saturday night in the Rotunda at BRHS from 8:00-11:00 p.m.
